How to report a video made with SocialReel that infringes your copyright or is otherwise illegal, and how to answer a report about your own.

What may not be made

What may not be made with SocialReel, and how that is enforced, is set out in the acceptable use policy. Infringing someone else's copyright, trademark or privacy is one of the things it does not allow; this page covers how to report it.

Reporting copyright infringement

If you believe a video made with SocialReel infringes your copyright, send a notice to support@socialreel.app with “Copyright notice” in the subject. It must include:

  • your physical or electronic signature;
  • the work you believe is infringed;
  • where the infringing material is, precisely enough for us to find it;
  • your name, address, telephone number and email;
  • a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by you, your agent or the law;
  • a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you own the right or may act for its owner.

We remove or disable what the notice identifies and tell the account holder. A video already published on another platform has to be reported to that platform as well.

Counter-notices

If your video was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice to the same address. It must include your signature; what was removed and where it was before; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address and telephone number; your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, outside the United States, any district where we may be found); and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the notice.

We send the counter-notice to that person and restore the material 10 to 14 business days later, unless they tell us they have filed a court action to stop it.

Reporting other illegal content

To report anything else made with SocialReel that you believe is illegal, write to support@socialreel.app. Explain why you believe it is illegal, where it is precisely enough for us to find it, your name and email address, and confirm that the report is accurate and made in good faith. We confirm receipt, decide without undue delay, and tell both you and the account holder what we decided and why.

Repeat infringers

We close the accounts of people who infringe repeatedly.
