Acceptable use policy
Last updated 5 October 2026
SocialReel turns a prompt into a short video. It may not be used for sexual, violent, deceptive or impersonating content, and it does not clone voices, swap faces or make deepfakes. Every prompt and script is checked before a video is made.
Who this applies to
Everyone with a SocialReel account, for every prompt, script, caption and video, whether or not the video is published. It is part of the terms of service.
What may not be made
The automated check refuses, and you may not make:
- Sexual, explicit or sexually suggestive content, including nudity, of anyone, real or fictional. Any sexual content involving minors is reported to the authorities.
- Graphic violence, or content that threatens or incites it.
- Medical claims that could mislead someone about their health.
- Financial claims that could mislead someone about money or investments.
- False or misleading claims about elections or voting.
- Impersonating a brand, a company or a real person.
- Anything illegal, or that promotes something illegal.
Also not allowed
These are not caught by the automated check, and are acted on when we find or are told about them:
- Deepfakes: content made to look or sound as if a real person said or did something they did not.
- Harassment, hate, or content that targets a person or group for who they are.
- Anything that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or privacy (see the DMCA policy).
- Spam: mass-producing near-identical videos, or publishing in ways the destination platform forbids. Their rules apply to everything you post there.
- Attempts to get around the check, for example by splitting a refused prompt across several videos.
What the product will not do
- No voice cloning. Voiceovers use a fixed set of stock synthetic voices. You cannot upload or record a voice, and the product cannot imitate a particular person's voice.
- No face swapping or face manipulation. You cannot upload a photo or video of a person. Footage comes from stock libraries or is generated from a text description of the scene.
- No unfiltered mode. There is no setting, plan or request that turns the content check off.
How videos are made
SocialReel is an independent product built on third-party AI models and services: they write scripts, check content, voice the script and generate footage. The privacy policy names them. SocialReel is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them, and their names belong to their owners. Every video contains AI-generated content, and you are responsible for labelling it where the platform you publish to or the law requires.
How it is enforced
Every prompt, and every script written from one, is checked automatically by an AI model before a video is made, and every prompt is also screened by our payment provider's content check. Content that fails is not made, you are told it was refused and, when our own check refused it, which categories it failed, and nothing is charged for it. After five refusals within an hour, new attempts are paused until the oldest of them is an hour old. If you think a refusal was wrong, write to support@socialreel.app and a person will review it.
We keep a record of each decision, as the privacy policy describes. We may remove a video, suspend or close an account that breaks this policy, and will say why unless the law or safety prevents it.
Reporting a video
To report a video made with SocialReel that breaks this policy, write to support@socialreel.app with where it is, precisely enough for us to find it, and why. Copyright notices follow the DMCA process. A video already published on another platform should be reported to that platform as well.
